It's planned for February.

All to do with the Carrick deal and the WHO clock

That’s just speculation

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
Apart from the fact a lot of people on here don't talk about football, I think it might be a case of the same old false dawns, same names being linked and ultimately getting to the end of the window disappointed with the same old excuses being rolled out. In the summer we only signed one player that improved the team (Zouma) not good enough, and I won't be holding my breath next month either.

But we do now have the 'super scout' here, so you never know!

I don’t have any ANY hope of getting a striker .

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
The new investor said he made a mistake with Sparta by buying too many new players in one hit as we did and look how much money we lost. He will be building a new team with a long-term approach. I would say we would consolidate now with one buy and a loan

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
Lingard and nat Phillips.

Won’t break the bank for either.

Even someone like origi on loan with option to buy if he performs.

Desperate for a few more decent players in this window.

There will be a few leaving in the summer so having to do too much in that window will cause problems.

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
Canvey - Is Phillips actually any good though? I see he is available for 15 mil. I would prefer Tarkowski, but don't see that happening.

Liverpool aren't letting Origi go with AFCON coming up.

OTB

Think AFCON will be postponed due to COVAIDS

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
I don't see the point in signing Phillips personally. He's too similar to what we have and would push Zouma to the left where he isn't comfortable. Ball playing cb takes our game to another level imo

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
I would like us to sign Lingard and Tarkowski on permanent deals and get Ake and either Hlozek or Origi on loan. I’d also like a left back but that might be pushing it

dealcanvey 2:02 Sun Dec 19
Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
Tarkowski would be great but realistically it won’t happen.

How much would Burnley let him go for even if he only has 6 months left?

If he goes they get relegated for sure.

He’s their best player. Would be like us selling Rice in a relegation battle.

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
If all our central defenders were fit the for me Tarkowskli would not improve our starting eleven though strengthen our squad. The same with talk of bringing in Nathan Phillips.

Decisions regarding central defenders, if any, during the window depend upon the progress of Zouma to full fitness. Another front man rather than a CD is a priority for me.

Re: where is the January transfer window thread?
67, as far as I’m concerned he won’t be buying lots of players for a new team, we don’t need those we have a team. What we need is to fill the gaping holes in our squad the bigger clubs have filled and then some. We need 2 forward/striker options, better cover for Cresswell and we are down to our last 2 centre halves. At a push we also need a better option to cover in central midfield so we can actually start resting these players in our decent 1st 11.

The new investor needs to see we are in a catch up situation NOT enhancing an already full squad that they probably had at Sparta.
